Kamala Harris Confronted by Protester in Closed Door UWM Meeting [VIDEO] Posted on October 18, 2024October 18, 2024 by Alex Stahl A video posted on the UW-Milwaukee 2027 Snapchat Story shows an unnamed protester confronting Kamala Harris in a closed-door meeting about the issue of Israel and Palestine. The video shows the student recording in the background of the classroom Harris was speaking in. The beginning of the video is unclear on what he says. The event was closed to the media at the last minute. You can hear Harris say, “I’m speaking right now, I know what you’re speaking of. I want the ceasefire. I want the hostage deal done. I want the war to end, and I respect your right to speak, but I am speaking right now.” You can hear students and other people at the meeting shout, “Yeah!” Claps can also be heard after Harris finishes speaking. As the video continues, the protester begins to get closer to Harris. He says, “What about the genocide, billions of dollars, 42,000 people are dead, 19,000 children are dead, and you won’t call it a genocide.” As of Oct. 1, Palestinian health authorities say that more than 41,500 people have died since Oct. 7, 2023. Most fatalities include women and children. The Biden-Harris administration has sent $17.9 billion from October 2023 to October 2024. This data comes from the Costs of War Project at Brown University. The end of the video shows the protester moving closer to Harris and what looks to be secret service or staff coming at the protester. The video abruptly ends. The video was posted by Ryan Tan, and the caption of the video reads, “What a hero. STOP THE GENOCIDE.” We do not know the identity of the protester. We have reached out for further information. The UWM Snapchat story can be joined by anyone who attends the school, all a student has to do is register the school to their phone. Later, a video was captured of someone being escorted out of the back of the Lubar Entrepreneurship building as protests erupted outside Harris’s Oct. 17 visit to a campus business class. The video was captured on the 4th floor of the Kenwood/KIRK building, so it is unclear if the person was handcuffed. It is also unclear what happened to the protester afterward. When Media Milwaukee asked the UWM Police Department for comment on whether someone had been arrested, we were sent to UWM Public Relations. UWM Public Relations has not answered our calls yet. The protest comes from the UWM4Pali Coalition, protesting Harris being on campus in the wake of everything happening in the Middle East. Harris was coming to the Milwaukee campus to meet with business students and have a meet and greet. She was there to discuss economic policy and entrepreneurship discussions. Harris also went to UW-Lacrosse yesterday to speak with students. She also visited Green Bay. The press was closed off to this event after they were originally allowed in. The event was also largely kept a secret from students, with many not knowing Harris was even going to be on campus until Media Milwaukee broke the story. Students were only sent an email stating that roads would be closed, and it would be difficult to get around campus on Thursday.
