Why? The highly anticipated “Wicked,” a two hour and 40-minute musical, directed by Jon M. Chu was released into theaters. What fans did not know, is that there would be a second part to follow. Wicked Part 2, formally known as “Wicked: For Good,” is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2025, according to an announcement from the “Wicked” Instagram. Fans have been going wild for the film since the first trailer was released on June 4, 2025, followed by the final trailer being released on September 24, 2025. The movie will conclude the story of two unexpected friends, Elphaba and Glinda, and is expected to have an overall darker tone than the first part. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Wicked: For Good (@wickedmovie) Fans are still speculating on who will play Dorothy Gale, as she was briefly teased in “Wicked.” “Wicked” concluded with the demonization of Elphaba, coining her as the Wicked Witch of the West, as she’s known in “The Wizard of Oz,” where the main “Wicked” characters are derived from. The plotline is set to follow Elphaba through the Ozian forest, as she is living there in exile, while Glinda is living at the palace in the Emerald City, enjoying her transformed life filled with fame and popularity. “Wicked: For Good” has been all the rave, as many brands are collaborating with the production. According to Buzzfeed, there have been at least 47 brand collaborations with the movie. From deodorants by Secret, in the scents Wickedly Wonderful and Couldn’t Be Lovelier, to Squishmallows characters of Elphaba, Glinda, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man and from Lush body sprays, inspired by Elphaba Thropp and Glinda Upland, to Owala water bottles, “Wicked” fans truly can have it all.
