NBA YoungBoy Returns to Louisiana for His Birthday Posted on October 31, 2025October 31, 2025 by Jajuan Evans NEW ORLEANS — Rapper NBA YoungBoy will return to his home state of Louisiana to perform at the Smoothie King Center for the first time since 2019. The concert is expected to draw more than 17,000 fans. The New Orleans Police Department is deploying about 400 officers, air drones and tactical teams in armored vehicles around downtown because of security concerns tied to the rapper and his fan base. According to WDSU-TV, the Smoothie King Center has implemented strict security rules for the event. No bags, including backpacks or fanny packs, will be allowed. Only cellphones, keys and wallets or cardholders carried on a person will be permitted. Several stops on YoungBoy’s MASA Tour have been canceled over similar concerns. The Chicago date was called off because of safety concerns including shows in Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit linked to YoungBoy’s ongoing feud with Chicago native Lil Durk, who is currently jailed on murder-for-hire charges. According to CBS News, it was reported that during YoungBoy’s first Atlanta show, he received proclamations from representatives of Fulton County and the state of Georgia recognizing him for promoting peace and discouraging gun violence in his music. The rapper’s second show in Atlanta was cancelled after this. This leaves people with questions as to why this would happen but it seems to be the reputation of his fans. According to New York Post, a 14 year old boy was charged for assault on an elderly usher at NBA YoungBoy’s concert in Kansas City. The teen tossed the man and unleashed a barrage of punches after being asked to move because he wasn’t in his assigned seat. YoungBoy’s New Orleans show, scheduled for his birthday on Oct. 20, is sold out. Resale tickets are listed between $300 for lower-level seats and up to $1,000 for floor seats.
