Photo: Morgan Geyser at court appearance in January Posen Police confirmed that the pair were arrested at Thorton’s truck stop at 14840 Western avenue, after police responded to a call of two people loitering behind the building, and found Geyer and her friend sleeping on the sidewalk. Once Geyser was caught she attempted to lie to Posen officers giving them a different name and telling them to “just google me”. According to Posen Police, the two took a bus to Posen from Wisconsin. The town is about 25 minutes south of Chicago. The 23-year-old was previously seen in a residential area on the upper west side of Madison. Geyser was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in 2017 after stabbing her friend Payton Leutner in a slender-man challenge. Geyser and her friend, Anissia Weiser led Leutner to a Waukesha park after a sleepover in 2014. Geyser stabbed Leuther 19 times while Weier motivated her to do it continuously. Geyser and Weir fled after the attack but were arrested on Interstate 94. According to investigators, they told them they attacked Leutner because they wanted to earn the approval of Slender Man and feared that he would harm their families. Weier pleaded guilty to being a party to second-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon in 2017. Geyser claimed she was not responsible due to her dealing with mental health issues. She was vacated in 2021 after agreeing to live with her father. Leutner did survive the attack; however, The following year the Waukesha circuit Judge Michael Bohren sentenced Geyser to 40 years in a psychiatric hospital. “Morgan Keyser was last seen in the area Kroncke Dr. around 8 p.m. with an adult acquaintance,” said Madison Police Department. “Her whereabouts are unknown.” Geyser recently spent the past seven years at Winnebago Health Institute. She was sentenced to 40 years in a mental health hospital and was permitted to ask the court to consider her conditional release every six months. Back in January, Geyser was released from Winnebago Health Institute. Three doctors stated that she made significant progress and does not pose a clear risk. There is an extremely high chance that she will remain under mental health supervision until 2058 and if things go bad she could be recommitted to that facility. “The family would like to thank all of the law enforcement entities Involved in the efforts to capture Morgan,” according to the Leutner family. “The Leutner family also wishes to thank the outpouring of support from family, friends and well-wishers who have contacted them during this difficult time.” Share this: Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Print (Opens in new window) Print
