‘The Drama’ Movie, Starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya: First Trailer Released

“The Drama,” starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, released the first trailer for the movie on Dec. 10, on its official Instagram account. The post noted “save the date” for April 3, the day Kristoffer Borgli’s A24 film will be released in theaters.

The romantic comedy will follow a “happily engaged couple,” Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson), through “unexpected turns” throughout their wedding week, according to “The Drama” IMDb page.

The trailer shows Harwood and Thompson in a pre-wedding photoshoot, as they awkwardly pose next to one another. There are snippets of tense moments in their relationship woven into the photoshoot scene.

A24 posted an engagement section of a newspaper that teases the couple’s engagement and gives some additional details of what to expect from the characters. The newspaper notes:

Harwood is a Boston University graduate with a B.A. degree in English. She is employed at Mission Brooks. 

Thompson graduated from Eaton College and got a PhD in Art History from Tufts University. He works as the Director of the Cambridge Art Museum.

Pattinson and Zendaya both have robust acting backgrounds. The trailer release followed the movie poster, which was also shared on the official Instagram page for “The Drama” on Dec. 9.

In addition to Pattinson and Zendaya, the film will feature Alana Haim, Michael Abbott Jr., Hailey Gates, Sydney Lemmon, Mamoudou Athie and many others, according to “The Drama” IMDb page.

Here’s a look at some films Borgli has directed in the past: “Dream Scenario” (2023), “Sick of Myself” (2022), “DRIB” (2017), “Former Cult Member Hears Music for the First Time” (2020) and “A Place We Call Reality” (2018).

“Sick of Myself” won two awards at the Valladolid International Film Festival in 2022, according to IMDb. The film also won an award from the Amanda Awards, Norway, in 2023. Several of Borgli’s other films have also been nominated for awards throughout the years.

Pattinson and Zendaya are set to meet again in “The Odyssey” (2026) by director Christopher Nolan and “Dune: Part Three” (2026) by director Denis Villeneuve, according to “The Drama” IMDb page.
