Braxton, Funky Dineva Exchange Allegations in Escalating Public Feud

The ongoing public dispute between Grammy-nominated singer Tamar Braxton and popular YouTuber Funky Dineva escalated this week. The feud revolves around allegations Dineva made concerning Braxton’s recent mouth injury and a former romantic relationship. The drama, largely playing out across social media and YouTube, has drawn significant fan reaction.

The feud reignited after Braxton, in a recent interview, discussed a mouth injury she sustained earlier this year claiming she still did not know how it happened.

Dineva, identifying himself as the former friend Braxton had thrown a party for the night of the incident, took to his YouTube channel to challenge her narrative. Dineva alleged that Braxton was being deceptive about the injury and had previously allowed the public to speculate that he might have been involved, according to 103.9 WDKX.

He claimed he had tried to communicate with Braxton’s team to clear his name but received no response, ultimately prompting him to share his version of events.

Dineva also introduced allegations concerning a former relationship of Braxton’s. He claimed that he witnessed Braxton and Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris, who is married to Yandy Smith, kissing and being affectionate on multiple occasions. He further alleged that Harris was present on the night Braxton sustained her mouth injury.

Dineva claimed on his channel that he saw the two sneaking around and that he was never comfortable with their relationship, WDHX reports refencing the original broadcast.

Braxton responded to the claims on social media with a post that read, “I Normally Don’t Kiss And Tell. But Since We’re Talking About It…” She also redirected viewers to her recent visual album, “Heartbreak Retrograde,” which she asserted had been the target of a hurtful and completely untrue rumor that accused her of an inappropriate relationship with her male co-star.

She also captioned the post with a phrase implying legal action was imminent: “Playtime is OVER…”

The public reaction to the dispute has been divided, with many fans flocking to social media to voice their support or skepticism.

“Honestly, I tend to side with Funky Dineva,” Aliyah Banks said. “Tamar is always in some kind of drama, and this just feels like another episode.”

However, other observers felt the manner of the public fallout was problematic. Roberto Martin, who identifies as gay, commented that he doesn’t care about the relationship drama, but he “hates the way Funky went after Tamar with such personal attacks. It just doesn’t do anything to help gay stereotypes.”

Despite Braxton’s implied threat of legal action, Dineva doubled down on his allegations in a subsequent livestream. He claimed that the relationship was extremely inappropriate and alleged he witnessed Harris rubbing in between Braxton’s thighs at a restaurant.

Dineva also suggested the only reason Braxton released her music video featuring Harris was because people had spotted them out together. Dineva stated he has more details he would reveal if the situation continues to escalate.

The initial friction between the two public figures occurred months earlier when Braxton was hospitalized for the injury. At that time, Dineva suggested the incident was a PR stunt.

When initial media speculation turned toward him as a potential source of the injury, he expressed offense that Braxton did not publicly defend him, claiming she later apologized and said she was unaware of the online chatter. As of Wednesday, Dec. 3, neither Harris nor his wife, has publicly addressed the claims made by Dineva.
