Spread the Word to End the Word Posted on April 8, 2015April 8, 2015 by Kenan Goyette On the first Wednesday of March each year, the Best Buddies organization holds a Spread the Word to End the Word campaign in order to raise awareness about the use of the R-word. The campaign asks people to pledge to stop using the R-word in hopes that it will lead to a more conscious awareness of the language people use towards and about people with disabilities. At the event held on UW-Milwaukee’s campus people were encouraged to make their pledge online and then sign and write their reasons for making their pledge. People can also speak to members of Best Buddies and learn more about the organization and the campaign. Kenan Goyette reports.
