Fitness at the Klotsche Center Posted on June 3, 2015June 3, 2015 by John Gingrass When you arrive on a college campus, everything is new and exciting: new housing, new classes and new friends. For some people, though, meeting those new friends can sometimes be a challenge. At UWM, the perfect place to start new friendships is the Klotsche Center. Hundreds of people use the facility each day, whether it’s to lift, run on the treadmills and other fitness equipment, play pick-up basketball or participate in intramurals. The opportunities to meet new people are nearly endless. Another great thing about the Klotsche Center is it offers free fitness classes for all students. These fitness classes are offered throughout the year and are a great way to stay in shape. Along with the fitness classes, another great way to stay involved is participating in intramurals. UWM offers close to 10 different sports for students to take part in throughout both semesters. Some sports draw hundreds of students, which call for very competitive games. “I think the thing I like most about intramurals is how competitive each game is,” says Joe Wenger, a participant in both basketball and soccer. “I played sports in high school so to be able to come to college and still play competitively is really cool and fun.” Whether you’re trying to meet new friends or stay fit, the Klotsche Center is the place to go. Once you go and start getting involved, it’ll be hard not to come back.
