Kyle Rittenhouse Not Guilty of All Counts in Kenosha Shootings Posted on December 14, 2021December 14, 2021 by Konrad Krueger KENOSHA, Wis.- Kyle Rittenhouse,18, was found not guilty on all charges Friday, Nov. 19. on day 14 of the trial. Rittenhouse pleaded self-defense in the Kenosha shootings that happened last year. The jury came back with its verdict after needing 3 days of deliberation Rittenhouse began to choke up and fall forward toward the defense table as he heard the verdict of “not guilty.” Rittenhouse was helped up and then hugged one of his attorneys, Corey Chirafisi. Chirafisi told Rittenhouse to breathe. Families of those shot and killed cried as the verdicts were read. Mark Richards, the defense attorney for Rittenhouse, held a press conference after the trial. “He has to get on with his life the best he can,” defense attorney Richards said on Fox 6 news. “I don’t think he will continue to live in this area I think it’s too dangerous.” “In Wisconsin, if you don’t put a client on the stand, you’re going to lose, period,” Richards said. Rittenhouse was charged with reckless homicide in the killing of Joesph Rosenbaum, 36, and intentional homicide in the death of Anthony Huber, 26. He also faced a charge of attempted homicide for wounding Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Rittenhouse also faced two counts of recklessly endangering safety. The shootings took place during a night of protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake last year. Rittenhouse was 17 when he and his friend, Dominick Black, went downtown Kenosha to protect a car business. Anthony Hubers girlfriend, Hannah Gittings, spoke after the trial. “Every day I wish I could come home to him,” Gittings said, “Now the system is telling me that nobody needs to answer for that, and I have a problem with that.” The parents of Huber were “heartbroken” that the Wisconsin jury had acquitted him of all five charges. “There is no justice for Anthony, of for Mr. Rittenhouse’s other victims, Joesph and Gaige,” Karen Bloom and John Huber said in a statement that was released after the final verdict. “Today’s verdict means there is no accountability for the person who murdered our son,” Hubers parents said. “It sends an unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence.” “Mr. Ritenhouse came to Kenosha armed to kill,” Hubers parents said. Joe Biden reacts. “While to verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the Jury has spoken. I stand by what the jury has to say,” Biden said in a statement. “I urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law,” Biden said. U.S Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin tweeted about the trial. I believe justice has been served in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. I hope everyone can accept the verdict, remain peaceful, and let the community of Kenosha heal and rebuild.— Senator Ron Johnson (@SenRonJohnson) November 19, 2021 Kenosha County Circut Judge Bruce Schroder thanked Jurors for their work throughout the trial. “I couldn’t have asked for a better Jury to work with, it’s truly been my pleasure just in terms of your attentiveness and the cooperation that you gave to us,” Schroeder said. Schroder was pleased with the jury. “It justifies the confidence the founder’s place in you,” Schroeder said.
