Devon Seafood & Steak offers a fine dining experience with fresh fish, scallops, fine cuts of meats and other American cuisine with a twist. Devon Seafood & Steak at Bayshore has been in business for about 10 years and is continuing to meet the expectations for many customers in and around the area. I have dined at Devon at Bayshore multiple times. I have gone for brunch, lunch, cocktail hour and dinner a few times at this restaurant with a few friends on special occasions and just for a meal. Recently I attended Devon for dinner with a few friends. We sat in the bar area as we wanted to take advantage of the happy hour appetizer pricing. The bar had a smooth ambiance with quiet lighting along with a jazzy upbeat toon playing over the speakers. Even with this music, the ambiance was still relaxing and enjoyable. Devon has relaxing soft tones in colors such as soft browns, cream colored seating with each room to their own touch of grey and red. There are some fancy vases with some shells or objects that look like broken sea glass in the vases when you first walk in the door in the openings of the walls. Some of these vases have fake glittery trees placed in them. Around Christmas time the center of the dining rooms has some ornaments gathered where the booths meet. Also in the front, there is a table off to the side of the host stand that holds a small tree with a propped sign that promotes the deal they are offering during this time. During the dinner hour, we were sat by the host with our paper menus. A few moments after we were sat the bus boy came by to fill our clear glasses with ice water. A minute after the bus boy left our waiter was at our table to take out drink orders, to see if we have been to Devon before and if we had any questions about their menu. This server was very pleasant and knew a lot about the menu and could answer any of the questions we had. The service was also fast with seeing as to how fast we received water and how fast the server was at our table after the water was poured. The entrées do take about 45 minutes to an hour to cook, which is a long time but a juicy steak and a fresh piece of fish take a little while to get to perfection. Overall the service was fast and kind. Good service is all about how well your server treats you and knows how to relate to you in a kind manner. For my meal, I had a 6 oz., filet with two shareable sides ($33). One of the shareable sides was the Lobster Risotto. It was rich in flavor lobster and even contain chunks mixed into the rice. The rice was cooked to perfection will mixed into a creamy sauce that was not too thick nor too thin. My other side was the Parmesan herb oven roasted potatoes. These are my absolute favorite item at Devon. The potatoes are always soft to every bite you take with loads of flavors that mix together perfectly. The best part of these potatoes is how the Parmesan cheese does not melt into your mouth like other cheeses. The cheese still has its flavor even though it is mixed in with the spices of the potatoes. My steak is medium-rare with the juices flowing out as I cut through the edge of the filet. The steak is not chewing but has a nice tender taste as I chew it, making me want the steak to last forever on my plate. The steak is grilled on over mystique grill giving a rich flavor you do not find at another steak house. This entrée a whole including the two sides was great. I enjoy it every time I dine at Devon Seafood & Steak.
