My Chemical Romance Reunited – Let’s Enjoy it While it Lasts [OPINION]

On October 31st, 2019, the famous emo rock band, My Chemical Romance announced that they’re reuniting and playing live again for the first time in 6 years. My Chemical Romance’s fans stayed loyal and hopeful for the last few years that one day, the band will get back together, and their dreams come true.

The band had and continues to have an impact on people after their split back in 2013. My Chemical Romance was a band that helped people deal with their personal battles and helped them realize that they aren’t alone and that the band cares about them. You could imagine how it felt when they announced their split six years back? There was this band that made people feel like they belong and that they matter, and all of a sudden, they aren’t together; it felt like a piece of your heart broke and that your childhood was over.

Throughout the years, the band would post things on their social media, making it seem that they were getting back together. Fans would freak out and rationalize their posts, and the members of the band would post explaining that they aren’t getting back together. But, when the day finally came, fans were excited and a bit emotional.

As exciting it may be that My Chemical Romance is reuniting and playing a few live shows, should we expect more from them? And how long are they going to be reunited? Not to mention, their announcement was great news for the My Chemical Romance fan base. Still, also, we should be preparing ourselves for when they go their separate ways again. At first, they announced that their first live show would be in Los Angeles, California, and then they started announcing more places. Many want a tour with more show dates, though this could be doable, we shouldn’t expect anything more.

It is hard to imagine and to think about how long they are going to be together; they didn’t say what the outcome of them back will be? As in for a few months, a year, or for a while. Though it may be harsh to say that we shouldn’t expect much, it’s because the heartbreak we went through when they split up, it could open the wound back. There is a lot of unanswered questions and thoughts that we have. Still, one thing is for sure, we have waited close to a decade for My Chemical Romance to get back together, and it happened. Let’s enjoy this while we can, and while it lasts!
