Hillary Clinton Asks Wisconsinites to “Finish the Job”

Milwaukee – Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, held a rally Monday night at the Boys and Girls Club in the north side of Milwaukee, where she urged all Wisconsin residents to go out and “finish the job” by voting for her in the state’s primary next week, April 5.

Hillary Clinton focused her comments on  healthcare, gun violence, LGBT rights, and higher education. She used these issues in order to attack some Wisconsin Republicans, in addition to her Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders.

Hillary Clinton highlighted the importance of the vote of Wisconsinites next week, in order to head off a possible Sanders’ surge.

“You have a very important primary next week, and we need everyone to go and vote,” she said. “We need you to reach out to people, and convince them to vote next week. Although we’re doing well, we need to finish the job and get the nomination.”

The two Democratic candidates are in a close race with one another here in Wisconsin. She attacked the idea of free tuition, which is one of the strong points that Sanders has with the young voters.  She says she will make college affordable and will only make the kids of wealthy families pay for college.

Supporters speak

The support of the hundreds of people in attendance was overwhelming, as they have clear ideas as to why they are supporting her rather than her rivals. Such is the case of Milwaukee resident, Catherine Jones, who served as a volunteer for the organization Hillary for Wisconsin.

“I’m know she will win the presidential election because she has a clear idea of where to take the country,” said Jones. “Unlike any Republican candidate, she will get the job done.”

The support of many female Milwaukee residents was evident tonight, making it easy for Clinton to demonstrate her intentions and plans on raising the female voice in America.

This was reinforced with the presence and support of Wisconsin Congresswoman, Gwen Moore, who emphasized the importance of females in the American economy.

“In America, when women do well, America does well,” said Moore.

UW-Milwaukee alumnus, Jim Livesay, is one of the supper supporters of Clinton, who once again made his presence and support known at tonight’s rally.

“I support Hillary because she is competent, brilliant, and a historical woman,” said Livesay. “She’s what we need in America to move forward.”

Clinton spent the night in Milwaukee because she will hold a forum on gun violence prevention this morning. This will be followed by a campaign event for Senator Sanders, at the State Fair Park in afternoon.
