All five were employees at Molson Coors. No one from outside the company was involved in the shooting.

“I ask of you, the public and the media, that we are respectful of these families during this time,” said Morales.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Ferrill, who was also an employee of Molson Coors at the time of the shooting. He was an electrician who had worked for Molson Coors for several years. He was a 51-year-old from Milwaukee.

Ferrill was found dead alongside the five victims inside the Molson Coors campus. He was killed by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Milwaukee Police.

Ferrill had no prior convictions that would have prevented him from purchasing the deadly firearm, according to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access.

Police said the motive is still not clear. Morales said that was still under investigation, adding, “We don’t have that for you.”

Mayor Tom Barrett gave his condolences to the families involved in the shooting and gave his response to questions on the possible motive of the shooter.

“Right now, there is an investigation going on, I think it is premature to speculate on anything,” said Barrett.

According to court records, Ferrill had filed a civil lawsuit against Molson Coors’ health insurance provider American Family in 2015.

The shooting happened just past 2 p.m. at the Molson Coors campus near downtown Milwaukee, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

“Our families are hurting, the Molson Coors families are hurting, the Miller families are hurting, our city is hurting,” said Mayor Barrett. “What’s most important right now, is that we as a community come together and put our arms around these grieving families.”

CEO of Molson Coors Gavin Hattersly gave his official response to the event, saying, regarding the families of the victims, “Our focus right now is on supporting them as best we can.”
