Chris Brown Arrested for Felony Battery Charges Following Florida Show Posted on July 10, 2018 by Nicholas Kanute After his Florida show late yesterday night, Chris Brown was arrested and immediately escorted off stage by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department. According to reports link and cite specifically, he was arrested due to an outstanding warrant. A local Palm Beach news station, WPTV, has come out with information stating that the warrant was for felony battery. This is not the first public case concerning Chris Brown and unlawful physical altercations. This warrant recalls past incidents with Brown including the infamous domestic abuse case between him and singer/songwriter Rihanna. Brown’s Instagram page made a post following his sudden arrest that showed him during a performance with a caption stating “What’s NEW????” followed with an eye-roll emoji. Brown seems to be taking this arrest lightly compared to how any other person would behave following an arrest for a crime as serious as battery. Many people have defended the rapper in the past years following the situation with Rihanna (despite many clear testimonies stating what he did), but it seems like it will be hard to defend his character at this point. It tends to be difficult to prove one’s innocence of character when there are patterns of violent repetition and nonchalance in one’s behavior. Perhaps it is time for the music industry to put its foot down and stop supporting abusers. No matter what the circumstances, physical abuse is not excusable- even if you are a rich popular musician.
