Demi Lovato Makes a Comeback Posted on December 24, 2017 by Whitney Ramos Title: Tell Me You Love Me Singer: Demi Lovato Company: Island, Safehouse and Hollywood Records Date of Release: September 29, 2017 Music Genre: Pop/Hip Hop Price: $17.99 Tell Me You Love Me is the sixth album released by Demi Lovato. The album falls under the category of Pop and Hip Hop depending on the song you’re listening to. This album is great and makes you get into your feeling but then, also makes you want to rise above everything you’ve faced in your life and become the strongest person you can be. Demi Lovato used to be a Disney pop star and was featured in an all-time favorite of many, Camp Rock. Of course, back then, Demi was quiet young and her music was to portray her young self and give the girls that are fans of Disney and Disney Channel. This album is better because she really puts her all into it and you can feel the way she’s feeling through each song. Each song has its own personality to it and you can tell how she feels about what she is singing. The theme of the CD is mostly love. She shows many sides of the meaning relationship. The song, “Ruin The Friendship,” shows a side of what good friends may want to do. Ruin the friendship in the sense of hooking up with one another. “Games,” is of course the song out there for all the women who want more out of a hook up but the man keeps playing games and leading the women on when all they really want is someone to hook up with. Two of my favorites kind of coincide with one another. “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” and “Lonely.” “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore,” is one of my favorites because you can really relate to this song if you’re going through a tough relationship that may include cheating, lying or just a bunch of hurtful games that just aren’t making the relationship worthwhile than this is the perfect song to belt out in your car and to get deep down into those feelings. Obviously after a break up your alone, you get lonely and become sad and gloomy. Demi Lovato’s version of being lonely is a complete twist to being sad and gloomy. Demi takes her song, “lonely” and has Lil Wayne feature on the song. She shows her loneliness through anger with sadness underneath making the song more meaningful and stronger in context. Demi’s voice has so much feeling and emotion behind every word to every song. In her slower songs, she does some very strong carried out notes with a strong tone. Her strong tone with notes somewhat reminds me of Christina Aguilera and the way she has so much force through her long-held notes. Demi recently created a documentary on her life involving drug use and her on and off relationship with Wilmer Valderrama. I believe that this album is a way she has overcome her drug abuse, and has somewhat finally getting her feelings out about Wilmer Valderrama. Her best ones on the album are the ones that I have already mentioned. I believe that these are her best songs because they are the ones you can relate to on a wide spectrum of feelings and you can really get into your feeling deep down. This album does not have any “bad” songs. The album is filled with good and great song, which you can relate to all of them and find yourself singing along intensely or even just humming. The title of the album is Tell Me You Love Me and the second song on the album is also Tell Me You Love Me. This song has the most meaningful lyrics on the whole album after I have watched the music video. The lyrics closing the song, “Tell Me You Love Me,” are, “Everything I need is standing right in front of me.” At the end of the video Demi is standing in front of the mirror showing that herself is all she needs. This is a saying that all young women can relate to because it is so empowering and meaningful to be independent. My opinion on the album is that it is great. I love this album! There are so many ways to relate and get the deep real feelings that she had while writing this album. She really knows how to relate to her listeners on a different level than other artists.
