Olivia Jade Sticking With Friends in Wake of Scandal [EDITORIAL]

Lori Loughlin‘s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli has been sticking with her true friends in the wake of the high-profile college admissions scandal.

Not long after the Fuller House actress Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli pleaded not guilty for their alleged involvement in the embarrassing scandal, the 19-year-old Olivia Jade, was spotted hanging out with friends in Southern California.

In the past week, Jade spent time with fellow YouTuber Heath Hussar. In Hussar’s Instagram Stories, she laughed and talked at a small get together.

In a video posted to Hussar’s account later, Jade could be seen smiling as she sat at the island of a kitchen surrounded by friends

TMZ first reported Jade being spotted out in public, the hangout was at Hussar’s home in Studio City, California.

Earlier this month, Loughlin, 54, and Giannulli, 55, pleaded not guilty to the charges they face; conspiracy to commit money laundering and mail fraud. If convicted, they could face up to 20 years in prison for each charge.

The couple was previously offered a plea agreement, but ultimately decided to reject the deal because they didn’t want to spend time in prison, according to the article written by TMZ.

In March, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts announced that it had filed charges against 50 people, including Jade’s mother Loughlin and fellow actress Felicity Huffman, in the college admissions scandal. The actresses, along with others were accused of such alleged crimes as falsifying test scores and lying about the athletic abilities of their children.

Lori Loughlin allegedly wanted her daughters to get into the University of Southern California. So badly that she paid nearly $500,000 for bribes collectively with her husband to falsely portray their daughters as USC crew team recruits, even though they never participated in crew.

Felicity Huffman decided to plead guilty. “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions,” Huffman said in a statement. “I am ashamed and embarrassed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, and the educational community,” she said.

Loughlin and Giannulli have hired a team of high-profile attorneys to represent them in the case. Known for representing other individuals in scandalous white-collar crimes.

But will that save their daughter’s attempt at an influencer career?

Weeks after the scandal broke, reports surfaced that Olivia Jade has relied on close friends while she navigates the fallout, including the loss of a lucrative partnership with makeup typhon Sephora.

She promptly stopped posting to social media after news of the scandal broke earlier this year. Her parents, if convicted, could face up to 40 years in prison. The University of Southern California is continuing to investigate internally, according to reports.
