The Deer District is Officially Back

Bucks fans everywhere are hopeful they will celebrate another NBA title this June. But first, their I-94 rivals from the south are looking to spoil the team’s recent success, as the Chicago Bulls are the first matchup for Milwaukee in the 2022 playoffs.

Milwaukee residents are welcomed back into the Deer District officially for the playoff run. As games become more important, the staff and security for the stadium look to ramp up safety precautions and guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone who attends the games. Only small purses and wallets are allowed in the district area according to the new guidelines posted outside the watch party area. Any backpacks larger than 14” X 14” X 6” are not permitted.

There are a multitude of new beverages and food options available for purchase as well. New food vendors selling Barbeque and other fan-favorite foods will be inside the plaza during the Bucks playoff run this year.

Both Bulls and Bucks fans alike are confident that their team can win this opening best-of-seven series. Since the two teams play only 93 miles from each other, fans from the Windy City have made the voyage north to Milwaukee. Erick and Monica Brown are more than confident that the Bulls can pull off the upset.

“We have had our struggles over the past decade or so, but the Bulls look like they can give Milwaukee a run for their money this year,” said Erick. “We don’t think Milwaukee is as nice as Chi-town, but we’ll admit this Deer District is something we really haven’t seen before.”

Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Deer District provides fans a one-of-a-kind experience that you cannot get anywhere else in the country. With the new safety precautions inside and outside the stadium, one important one is the city’s decision not to implement a mask mandate for attendees. Some fans are delighted to have a sense of normalcy return to the city, others are not excited to attend the watch parties, as the pandemic has not yet officially ended.

“I am not too keen on the idea of the district not using a mask mandate this year,” Bucks fan David Ramos says. “I love the team but being that close to that many people again isn’t something I’m willing to root for. Sounds like another super-spreader event if you ask me.”

The Bucks are looking to have more fan viewership from the Deer District as the team progresses through the NBA playoffs. The late April weather has seen some cancelations of early playoff watch parties however for more information about watch party information visit www.deerdistrict.com or the Bucks official team page on www.nba.com.
