Giants Stunned in Loss to the Broncos: Most Points Scored in an NFL Quarter

Denver, CO- The New York Giants suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Denver Broncos and blew a 19 point lead in the fourth quarter.

Everything was clicking in the first three quarters for the Giants, but in the fourth quarter the Broncos flipped the script and scored 33 points ending up in a 33-32 comeback win.

This comeback win  marks historical value in the NFL and ends a streak in which NFL teams  had won 1,602 consecutive games when leading by 18 points or more in the final six minutes of the game.

“We fought to the end,” Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain said to ESPN. “In this league, no matter how much you’re down, there’s always a will, there’s always a way.”

Broncos Quarterback Bo Nix became the first player in NFL history to rush for two touchdowns and throw for two in the final quarter.

“I don’t even know how we scored 33 points in a quarter, that’s kind of insane,” Nix said to ESPN. “ It’s just whatever we had to get done, we did it….. By any means necessary.”

Giants Linebacker Brian Burns voiced his frustration about yesterday’s loss and criticized his coach’s late game decisions that ended up unsuccessful.

According to TalkSport.com  Burns was seen furious walking towards his locker room yelling “oh my f****** god bro,” said Burns. “F***ing making us look stupid. Drop eight?”

NFL network’s Mike Garafolo quoted the video of Burn’s actions and discovered that he was not pleased with the  decision to go into  drop eight coverage late in the game.

The Giants defense were rushing Nix with only three pass rushers and were able to make it difficult for him until the final stretch.

Once Burns was able to cool off, the  linebacker spoke to the press media about how it is his responsibility to influence the defense to play better.

According to some reporters of the NewYorkPost.com, Burns said “I had some faults and some misses…. Just didn’t execute well enough…. We got put in a position where we could have won and took the game,” said Burns. “But we gave it back to them.”

The Broncos are on a 4-game win streak and improve to 5-2 on the season and 3rd in the AFC conference. While the Giants shift to a 2-5 record on the season and are currently 15th in the NFC conference.
