Wisconsin Artist Bean Baye Prepares the Release of Her First NFT Collection

Green Bay, Wis. Artist Sabrina Jordan, known under the artistic alias, Bean Baye, is gearing up to release her first collection of NFTs in the summer.

Baye has been working on the summer collection for the last few months, which will feature the zodiac signs portrayed as diverse, naked women. The collection will contain multiple ethnicities and highlight various features of women’s bodies. She illustrates the NFTs with the different brushes and colors on the app ProCreate.

“When I was thinking of ideas, I thought, everyone is into zodiac signs and astrology,” said Baye. “It’s something that’s prominent and everyone feels inside themselves.” 

Baye has been drawing disrobed women since high school. After getting in trouble for drawing bodily figures on napkins at her receptionist stand at H&R Block, Baye decided that she needed a different outlet for her art. Her husband introduced her to the NFT universe.

“I played around with some ideas with him,” Baye said. “He told me years ago about this coffee mug idea, where it’s a coffee mug destroying Chicago. He was like, ‘You can make that an NFT!’” 

After creating her collection of astrology women, she plans to create astrology men and then take up her husband’s coffee mug idea. Baye loves that NFTs can be universal with the accessible change of small details.

“I’ve seen a lot of art where I’m like, ‘Oh my god that’s so cute, but I don’t vibe with the color I’m seeing,’” said Baye. “To be able to change it is why NFTs are something so big right now.”

Baye is optimistic about the future as she prepares for her summer launch of NFTs. She hopes that this medium will blend her artistic passions and bring income to her family.

“I don’t want to be a starving artist, necessarily,” Bean Baye said. “I would like to be able to feed myself. I don’t want to have to work another job. I would love to be all art all of the time.”
